Car Parks
Doverhay Car Park (directly opposite the museum) has a maximum stay of 2 hours. Current charges:- Up to 1 hour £ 1.20 Up to 2 hours £ 2.40 Disabled / Blue Badge holders must pay for the first hour, but the second hour is FREE (you MUST display both parts of your badge too) For those wishing to park for longer, Central Car Park is 400yds further through the village to the west of the museum and is a long-stay car park. Walking, Cycling and Riding.
With over 985kms of Rights of Way, Exmoor is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and riders. Porlock is on the 630-mile South West Coast Path and The Coleridge Way Walk, a 51-mile walk across Exmoor. Access The Museum is a listed 15th century Manor House and access may be difficult for those with limited mobility. The entrance and Great Hall are accessible for small wheelchairs. The upper floors of the museum are accessed internally by a steep, narrow, spiral stone staircase. Externally, access is via wide paved steps to a door into the first floor Solar, from which a small flight of steps leads to another first floor room. Room stewards are always on hand to give assistance where necessary. |
